TARGETS
Compare photographers across a project or within a piece of analysis. You could also create direct comparisons called: ‘Photographer and me” where you present a photo by you and a photo by your chosen photographer next to each other and discuss how you have been influenced.
Annotation must be in greater depth. You don’t have to write www and ebi at the level you are. It would be far better to write a short paragraph.
Screen grab editing techniques.
When you take photographs, try different compositions, distances and points of focus so you have a breadth to choose from.

Homework:Look up
Set One
In this task I had to look up and take photos of what I saw and went to several different places to get a variety of pictures.
Set Two

WWW: The exposure and focus on the photos were good so the pictures came out very sharp

Mirroring and Reflecting
To create this mirrored image I used photoshop to apply the mirroring process four times to one of my 'look up' images. I edited the same picture four ways so each time a different corner was in the centre.
www and ebi
WWW: There was a good sky to building ratio so there was a variety of different colours and textures. This created a sequence of photos with an abstract feel to them.
EBI:When I edited the photos there was a line between each image so next time I will make sure to look out for anything like that in photoshop

Four Composition Types
In this task I was required to walk around the school and take photos of where I saw an opportunity to capture one of these four composition types: rules of thirds, balancing elements, layers and triangles.
1. Rule of thirds- rule of thirds is where you split the photo into 3 columns vertically and 3 columns horizontal and tells you not to put the main subject in the centre of the picture.
1. Rule of thirds- rule of thirds is where you split the photo into 3 columns vertically and 3 columns horizontal and tells you not to put the main subject in the centre of the picture.
2.Balancing elements- Balancing images tells us to put two subjects that take up a similar amount of space in to parts of the photo. This gives a sense that 'the weight' of the photo is balanced throughout the picture
3.Layers- In photography people are trying to convert the 3D world into a 2D picture. To do this you can place the subject in between layers to give the photo a three dimensional feeling
4.Triangles- Triangle are used to create an eery and unstable feeling in a photo

Using Mirrors
In this task I was required to use mirrors to reflect the image in front. I used lots of opposites to create a contrasting image that pleases the eye of the viewer.

Beauty in Decay
In this task, I was inspired by the photographer 'Romain Jacquet-Lagreze' to take photos of peeling piant, rust, etc to create beauty out of decay.I took up close photos of brick, peeling walls and rusty poles to create an abstract picture.
Best Edits:
WWW: I zoomed in on decaying walls and paint and made it look very abstract

Independent Development:
Street Photography
For my independent development I will be taking photos in the style of street photography. My inspiration for this project came from several photographers, one of them being Vivian Maier. Vivian Maier was an American street photographer whose photos were only discovered after she died, when a box full of her negatives was sold in an auction. The auctioneer who brought the negatives decided to look into this mysterious photographer and unravelled her whole life story over the course of several years. All of her work was compiled together and released to the public for everyone to enjoy. Maiers took all of her photos of ordinary passers by doing ordinary things. Her subjects were often unaware to her taking a photo of them so the images taken would capture their natural expressions. On the other hand, in some of the pictures, the subject looks shocked and slightly surprised when they caught her pointing the camera to their face. Sometimes in her photos, we also see the subject finding the camera extremely disturbing and give Maiers an annoyed look, indicating she was sometimes obvious with her camera work. This tells us she was not afraid of being a social outcast and did not give in to societal pressures. Through her work we get to see a great mix of people, some oblivious, some with a puzzled and bothered expression when they notice the camera. Moreover, she would take lots of photos of herself in mirrors and reflections which means the viewer can almost get to know her through the photo. Here are some examples of her work:
For my independent development I wanted to take photos like Vivian Maiers, but with a slight modern twist to it, making a set of photos of my environment that represents people living in the 21st century.Through this project I would like my photos to be able to reflect the mixture of individuals that live in my city. My independent development links to the theme of environment because I am taking pictures of various people and places in my city. The photos capture where I live and the different types of people who live here too.
Set 1
For my first set of photos I took the train to Oxford Circus to capture my images. When I got into central London I walked from Tottenham Court Road to Carnaby street taking photos of people as I walked by, zooming in on their faces to capture their natural expression.I took pictures of people through shop windows, social interactions or anyone who looked as though they could be a good subject.I got a mixture of reactions when people saw me taking the photos, some were happy to be in the photo and even started posing for it, while others gave me a strange look. However, most people were unknowing to me taking the photo which meant I got photos of people in their natural states. Here is my first set of photos:

WWW: I took lots of photos zoomed in on a particular person or group of people and the photos were well focused.I was also happy with the composition and managed to includes some pictures in rule of thirds.I edited some of the photos slightly by increasing the contrast to bring out the colours and shadows.I also felt that I captured various different facial expressions and most of my photos were taken without the subject noticing so I caught them in their natural expression.
EBI: I only took a few photos through shop and cafe windows, so next time I would like to take more as my favourite photos that I took were in that style.I also want to take more photos through reflections as I took very few in this shoot.

Set 2
In this set of photos I decided I wanted to take more photos in reflections of windows and through shop and cafe windows as well as pictures similar to the ones I took before. I took the train to Hampstead to try and get pictures in a different environment than in the first set. However, the pictures I got in Hampstead were not a good as the first set because people were not as happy for me to take a photo and the photos weren't as interesting. So, I decided to go back to Oxford street where I originally got my best photos but this time I focused on taking photos in reflections.Although, I did also get some in the style of the photos in the first set. There is two sets of photos within this set; photos I took in Hampstead and on the train and also a set from central London. Here are the photos I took in Hampstead and on the train:

Set 3
For my third set I went into Covent Garden to take my photos as I thought it would be interesting to capture pictures in a slightly different environment to Oxford street. After going to Covent Garden I walked around central London and took photos around Trafalgar Square. I got pictures of a race, Covent Garden market, etc. Here are the photos from my third set:

For my fourth and final set I went back into Oxford Circus to take my pictures as that is where I got my best photos before. I went down Oxford Street, Regents Street and Tottenham Court Road to take my final photos.I felt that I got most of the photos that I wanted to have gotten for my independent development through my 3 sets before this one so I used this fourth set as an opportunity to get any final pictures. Final Piece
For my final piece I wanted to present the photos which I thought best illustrated the diversity of citizens in London. I wanted my photos to capture people's natural expressions instead of a staged photo. So, I choose a variety of my photos that I thought did this best. Here are my final pictures:
